Last week Thomas took the morning off and we trucked it off to the NC State Fair. I can honestly say, it was the best half day trip to the fair I think a family could have been. Yes, that sounds cheesy… but I don’t use cheese lightly. No crying (from anyone), no rude people (anywhere), we had good food, a good time, and left with smiles on our faces. Here are some of the highlights.
One of the first stops – the GIANT Smokey the Bear. Best part? When he said “Hello there, Atticus.” Hilarious to see how fast his little head whipped around.
Taking a picture by the steam engine from York, PA… thinking of his Great Grandma Shaffer (among others).
Checking out the turkeys, chickens, and geese.
He was pretty excited about the turkey legs.
“Ax want to bite it!” Haha… I guess we have a little cave man. :)
….Thanks for the photography, husband…
Watching the guys do tricks on their bikes… The good news is, since he doesn’t really ride a bike yet, I don’t have to worry about him trying to do flips on his own. ;)
Do you see that little yellow monkey? Yeah, he won that HIMSELF! Popped 2 out of 3 balloons throwing darts! Better than I could do I’m sure.
His first ride – driving the old timey car. A great way to end our perfect day at the fair.
